From the surface it appeared that Michael Jackson was riding another wave of career success during 2002, with a lauded appearance on the American Music Awards, a Grammy nomination and a high-profile performance on American Bandstand’s 50th anniversary.
However, Michael Jackson’s personal and professional life would soon unravel. First came Michael Jackson’s very public dispute with his record label, Sony, and his accusations of racism against it’s chairman Tommy Mottola, then it was his numerous social blunders towards the end of the year. His botched up appearance in court that caused a tabloid sensation and the infamous baby dangling controversy in Germany.
Michael Jackson’s eccentric behaviour had turned erratic, appearing to not only endanger himself, but innocent lives around him. This change in the global superstar had many asking, whatever happen to the real Michael Jackson?
