Utah Man Decorates House With “Purge And Purify Message And Causes Outrage

Kade Rogers is a 22-year-old caucasian claims he was looking to scare folks with his Halloween decor, and says he didn’t mean to offend anyone, but he did. According to The Salt Lake Tribune, the former Marine says he’s dealing with threats to his safety in Facebook comments, people yelling and throwing drinks at him from passing cars, some unsettled neighbors. There’s a huge sign on his garage that says: “Keep America Great Purge and Purify”.

“This is not racist,” Rogers said. “This is not racial in any way, shape or form. I am not a racist … It’s not a political statement, nothing.”

Ohhh, our bad. To be fair, the movie is called “The Purge: Election Year,” and its slogan is “Keep America Great.” But, coupled with the “purify” part…folks were sent over edge about the message. Especially in this dense, racially political climate.

But fun fact, before he was called out and drenched with slander, Roger’s sign said “Make America Great Again Purge and Purify”, but he swapped it out for “Keep” to align with the movie.
